KYOGLE’S CALL TO ALMS We - KCAN – believe if the world is to survive beyond 50 years, then its people are going to have to unite in the fight, and show we have what it takes; that we deserve a second chance. But, can a small country town like Kyogle make a difference? Can we use our sense of community we are so proud of, and show the way? Many think it is already too late, but KCAN is set to prove them wrong. On Thursday 8th May, KCAN will be holding a ‘Calling to Alms’
day in Kyogle with a public showing of support outside the Ritchies
Supermarket, where KCAN volunteers will be asking all Rithchies shoppers
to use a KCAN Community Benefits Card for that one particular shopping
day. We are not asking the Kyogle public to change any existing allegiances
they might have with any other community groups, we are just asking
them to use our card for that day only. Of course if any new people
would like to keep using their card, they will be welcome.

EVE “Earth Vision” – a call to alms. E.V., affectionately known as Eve. THE PROBLEM It could be said we have all started on a mysterious and potentially dangerous journey into ‘transition’. Everyday more and more people are coming to realise we are standing before an abyss, contemplating our global extinction. If there are any ‘love-lines’ to be found on this grim face, then surely it must be the opportunity we have been given to Unite in a common cause. I think everyone will agree its about time – maybe its our last chance? A 90% carbon reduction in 50 years has the potential to turn our civilisation on its head, yet that is exactly what our experts are telling us is our only option giving a fighting chance. However, our Earth Vision is not centred on fear or catastrophe, being built on the belief that large numbers of good people will gladly join a common cause, if they believe they can make a meaningful difference, and there in lies the ‘rub’. The solution or cause must offer realistic hope. No one wants to be associated with failure. It would appear if we are to have any chance of meeting this daunting target, we must invest an enormous amount of time and industry into pro-active, carbon reducing initiatives, and of course… this will require enormous funding. To find out more - THE PLAN, MODUS OPERANDI, RATIONALE, ACCOUNTABILITY, ADMINISTRATION COSTS ETC., POSSIBLE PROJECTS, HOW YOU CAN HELP, click > EVE -*Earth Vision* A FINAL POINT TO CONTEMPLATE: The word Adam literally means Earth. The word Eve means life-giver. If there was ever a time Adam needed Eve’s help, it surely must be now.
